What is the Global Period Poverty Forum (GPPF)?

Leaders from around the world will come together with a united passion and purpose to discuss menstrual health management practices and advocacy. All topics related to menstruation will be discussed over three days including the supply of period products, education and using our voices to make change in not only our own countries but collectively around the world.

When and where is the conference being held?

The Global Period Poverty Forum will be held at the Pullman King George Square – Corner of Ann and Roma Street, Brisbane City, QLD, 4000

Conference sessions will be held from Monday 10 October until Wednesday 12 October 2022. Please download the program for further session information and times.

Who can attend?

Admission to the Global Period Poverty Forum is open to delegates who are professionals, advocates, researchers, impactors and/or for those who have a genuine interest in ending global period poverty.

Can I bring extra guests to the social events?

Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 situation in Queensland, numbers are limited to ticketholders only.

COVID-19

Will I have to check into the event?

Delegates will be required to check in via the Queensland government QR code each day of the forum.

What happens if I experience COVID-19 related symptoms before GPPF?

You must stay home if you have experienced COVID-19 symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, runny nose, or loss of smell in the 14 days prior to GPPF.

What happens if I experience COVID-19 related symptoms at GPPF?

You must notify the nearest event/Pullman staff member or notify the registration desk and they will advise what to do next.

Will I be required to wear a face mask at GPPF?

From 2 January 2022, as per the Queensland Government Directive masks must be worn indoors everywhere in Queensland, except in your own home or accommodation or where it is unsafe, such as while doing strenuous exercise. Whilst masks will be provided, we also recommend bringing a supply of your own.

Will this event be held as a hybrid event?

Yes! Please purchase an online ticket via the register now button on the home page.

What if state border closures mean I cannot attend GPPF?

As outlined in the Terms & Conditions, if border control measures or government restrictions prevent a delegate from attending, delegates have the following options:

1. Delegates can access sessions online

2. Registration transfer to another delegate at no cost

What measures will be taken to ensure that the event is COVID Safe?

Please refer to the COVID Safe page for details on how GPPF will be running as a COVID safe event.

Registration

What is the cut-off date for registration?

Registrations for the face-to-face forum will close on Monday 26 September 2022. Registrations to attend the conference via Zoom will be open until Monday 10 October 2022.

What should I do if I don’t receive any confirmation or receipt?

A confirmation of registration and tax invoice will be issued to your email address on submission of registration.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your ‘junk’ or ‘spam’ folders and check that the email address you provided when registering is correct. If a confirmation has not been received, please contact Tegan Dalman on tegan.dalman@sharethedignity.org.au

Are conference related costs tax deductible?

This may be possible however, please contact a tax professional to discuss this.

Will I need to book into conference sessions?

Bookings are not required for conference sessions, you will automatically be booked into sessions when you register.

Will you be sending my name badge and conference pack to me before the conference?

Your name badge and conference pack will be available for collection from the registration area onsite at the conference.

I need to cancel. Is there a cancellation policy?

As outlined in the Terms & Conditions, if border control measures or government restrictions prevent a delegate from attending, delegates have the following options:

1. Delegates can access sessions online

2. Delegates can transfer registration to another delegate at no cost

I am unable to pay to attend the GPPF online. Are there any scholarships available?

Yes we do have virtual scholarships available.

Please fill in this form if you would like to virtually attend the Global Period Poverty Forum but require a registration fee waiver to do so. Once complete, your application will be considered and you will be advised if you are successful via email.

Which airport should I fly into?

Brisbane Airport services the Brisbane area with regular direct flights from most capital cities. The airport is a 20-minute drive from the Pullman King George Square.

Is wireless internet available at the GPPF?

Yes, there is free wireless internet throughout the Pullman.

Are transfers available from Brisbane airport?

Is there public transport available at GPPF?

Yes, local buses and trains operate regularly to all major attractions and hotels.
