It's In The Bag 2025

I'm supporting Share the Dignity's #ItsInTheBag

This year I am supporting Share the Dignity's annual Christmas appeal It's in the Bag by hosting a packing party.

Each year Share the Dignity receives over 200,000 requests for It's in the Bags but typically receive 100,000 help women and girls who are fleeing DV or experiencing homelessness. Each bag is packed with love and care, including basic essentials, period products, and special gifts to bring comfort and dignity to someone in need over the Christmas season.

You can help make a difference too! Come along to our packing party and be part of this incredible effort, or if you can't make it, you can help by making a donation to Share the Dignity to help continue their amazing work.

Share the Dignity

Share the Dignity works to make a real, on the ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute period products and essential items through #ItsintheBag donations to those in need and work to end period poverty here in Australia.

Inspiration

Thursday 23rd Oct
It is so scary to think that there are women and girls out there without access to the most basic necessities - oral care, feminine hygiene products, hair care, etc.

I have 3 sisters and we are fortunate enough to be able to afford and have easy access to these basic items.

I also have 2 kids (1boy, 1 girl) and it's a scary thought that my daughter could face a future where period poverty is more prevalent, that access and affordability to these basic items could become even harder.

So I pack bags for women and girls who need our help to access these most basic items because it's a small way to make a big difference in someone else's life.

Why i started packing 🎒

Monday 13th Oct
Back in 2022 whilst on Maternity leave with my 1st child, my sister and mum told me about the 'it's in the bag' fundraiser. Being a new mum i thought it was a great idea to give back to other new mums who might not be able to afford the basic needs for themselves and their new baby. I put together 2 mums and bubs bags and dropped them off at my local Bunnings.

After 3 years of doing a small contribution, ive decided to go bigger this year. I've gotten my workplace involved in the hopes that we can fill more bags for women and girls in need this Christmas 😊
