Dignity Vending Machine for Griffith

By Alyssa Vasta

We are a group of passionate and committed volunteers of Share the Dignity, known as Sheroes. We are aiming to raise $25,000 to fund a Dignity Vending Machine which will be installed within a community organisation within Griffith to help women and girls in need.

These machines are the first of their kind in Australia. Introduced in 2016 they dispense a free 'period pack' which includes tampons and period pads, every ten minutes. These machines allow for dignified access to period products without the receiver needing to ask, which is often a big barrier because of the shame and stigmas associated with menstruation, leaving women and girls going without.

$25,000 will cover the costs of manufacturing the machine, insurance, freight, installation, and enough period products to sustain the machine for approximately 4 years.

Anything you can give towards our fundraiser will go a long way, making a huge, life-changing difference to the lives of many.

About Share the Dignity

Share the Dignity works to make a real, on-the-ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute period products to those in need and work to end period poverty here in Australia. When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.
