Christmas Charity - Share the Dignity #ItsInTheBag

As we won't be having an EEP Division Christmas party this year, Liesbet suggested that we choose a couple of charities that help people doing it tough at the end of this COVID year, and each donate what we might have spent on attending a function. One of the charities chosen at the October Divisional meeting was Share the Dignity.

Each year over 134,000 bags of personal goods are donated to women and girls experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence and doing it tough. The bags are made up with care and filled with the basic essentials such as soap and shampoo, period products, and so many more special gifts for people in need during Christmas time.

#It'sInTheBag is Share the Dignity's major drive each year. Some EPA offices have been able to participate in the past by collecting and dropping off filled handbags. EPA offices won't be able to collect filled bags this year, so supporters could make a monetary donation instead. Donations will mean that bags can be put together and given on our behalf.

Share the Dignity

Share the Dignity works to make a real, on the ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute period products to those in need and work to end period poverty here in Australia.

When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.

They assist those in need by collecting thousands of period products each year through collection drives and campaigns and distribute them directly to charities across Australia.
