I'm collecting donations for Share the Dignity

I am currently collecting donations of feminine hygiene products and other items in order to help women fleeing domestic violence, homeless or in poverty.

The "it's in the bag" drive is in November, so I am starting now (March 2025) to get a big head start and collect as many things as I can to impact the lives of women.

All funds raised from this page will help provide free period products to those in need and give them the dignity they deserve when dealing with their periods. 

Any support you can give towards this fundraiser will go along way, making a huge, life-changing difference to the lives of many. 


About Share the Dignity

Share the Dignity works to make a real, on the ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. 

They distribute period products to those in need and work to end period poverty here in Australia. When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.

Starting to pack the bags!

As it's approaching that time of year, I have started packing some of the bags I collected back in March/April filled with goodies. So far, I've filled four bags (but want to make it 8 if I can!)

I would have had 10x more stuff to put in, but I had to donate my collection early as I had no space (I was storing the items on my front lawn under a tarp!). 

I'm now looking for any last minute donations from people to finish off the bags. I can't wait to finish them all off so they can be on the way to the people who need them most.

I spotted some relatively cheap pocket tissues at a two dollar shop today that I couldn't pass on... pocket tissues are hard to find second hand/cheaper than the supermarket, so I was grateful to come across these.

A local vinnies store have kindly been collecting items on the Share the Dignity list for me to collect when I visit their store every now and again. Thank you so much for this second lot of hygiene items - many women will benefit from them!

I've been struggling to find oral hygiene products that are somewhat en-mass to go and collect for donation - there just aren't many around! But thanks to another Facebook Market-placer, we now have collected some toothbrushes, toothpaste and some other hygiene products of which we are so grateful. Thank you so much for adding some extra things to your donation too, it will help so many women!

Op-shop purchases

I went to some of the local op shops today and collected heaps of pads, disposable undies, reusable period undies, soap, pre-packaged shower sets, pocket tissues and handbags for all these items to eventually go in - all period products were sealed and unused, so perfect for donations! This has been the most I've ever collected in one go.

Don't worry, I made sure to leave some packets behind for other women to purchase in case they need some.

A big thanks to my very generous nan, as without her I wouldn't have had such a great start to my donation and collection process. She gave me lots of sanitary items, shampoos, conditioners, soap bars and other items that some women out there will love! Thank you so much for helping me make a difference! <3

Organisation time...

After getting some donations over the past few days, I recently decided to organise my storage area seeing I'll be holding onto these items until November. It's already looking promising. 

We still need to collect more oral care items as there aren't many of those, but off to a good start. It makes me smile knowing these items will benefit even just one woman out there going through a hard time.
