Dignity Drive Emergency Covid Appeal
We need your help. Due to lockdown in New South Wales and Victoria, our August Dignity Drive collections are predicted to be majorly impacted. We have already received over 66,000 product requests from just these two states and over 168,000 product requests nationally.
There are over 1,000 of our partner organisations relying on our help to ensure that these women and girls do not go without during times of crisis.
Together, we have the power to change this. A simple donation today can change someone's life.
This Dignity Drive, there are
Period products requested
As we near the end of our August Dignity Drive, collecting enough products is looking near impossible.
Every year Share the Dignity receives thousands of requests for period products from schools, hospitals and organisations that support their local community.
Last year when COVID first hit, we were in the middle of our March drive and had to turn away over 50% of requests for products due to not receiving enough donated products.
There are so many like Mary, who are having to make sacrifices each and every day to keep her and her family safe.
Mary's story stands out about why these drives are so important, she had fled her abusive husband with her two sons, no looking back. All living together in her car, Mary sacrificed period products to be able to feed her children.
"I once used a tampon from the floor of a public bathroom just to feel like she had dignity, even for a day."
This story is astounding. To think that even one woman would have to do something so undignified.
We know that Mary is not alone in this, with 1 in 5 having to improvise on period products because they cannot afford them.
When someone is in crisis, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.
With 1 in 5 having to improvise on period products, your donation can
give a woman hope and dignity in these awful and scary times.
Just $5 will help to provide a woman or girl experiencing
homelessness through another period.
