Meet Lauren

Lauren works full-time, shares a small rental with her sister, and does everything she can to stay on top of rising living costs. But even with an office job, the rising prices of groceries, bills, and rent have left her stretched incredibly thin. When money gets tight, it's her own needs that fall to the bottom of the list.

“There were weeks I had to decide between covering my part of the rent or buying period products.”

Lauren unfortunately is not alone, with 1 in 5 women being forced to improvise on period products just to make ends meet.

It’s a choice no one should have to make, but for Lauren, and far too many people like her, it’s an unfortunate reality.

You can help end period poverty

Lauren's struggle is not hers alone. There are too many women like Lauren who are forced to make a choice between paying their rent, and purchasing period products.

“When times were tough and I had to choose between paying my rent or buying period products, I resorted to using a handkerchief instead of a pad.”

Even with a job and a roof over her head, Lauren couldn’t always afford the essentials. Like 1 in 5 women, she had to resort to makeshift solutions just to get through her period.

No one should have to choose between their dignity or the basic essentials.

This tax time, your donation can help us provide period products to people like Lauren - those living in poverty, experiencing homelessness, or escaping domestic violence.

Your support will help make a real difference in the lives of women and girls who are doing it tough. Thank you for helping us to Share the Dignity.
