Inspiration for our Dignity Vending Machines
The Dignity Vending Machine is a world-first innovation that dispenses a free Period Pack at the push of a button.
These machines are so important, providing dignified access to period products without the need to ask, which is often a barrier due to the shame and stigma associated with menstruation, leaving women and girls without the products they need.
Your support will help keep our Dignity Vending Machines running and ensure no one goes without.
Every month, more than 4,000 young people walk through the doors of PCYC Coffs Harbour seeking safety, support, and a place where they belong. For many, it’s a refuge.
“Our club is home to a diverse group of people, many of whom come from low socio-economic backgrounds. For some of our members, the financial burden of purchasing sanitary products is overwhelming, leading them to resort to makeshift solutions such as using toilet paper. This has resulted in discomfort, embarrassment for many, further exacerbating the struggles they already face.”
That’s where a Dignity Vending Machine from Share the Dignity makes a difference.
It provides an average of 63 Period Packs monthly - 63 moments of dignity, confidence, and inclusion.
But this is just one location.
We need your help to support this machine and another 129 like it across the country over the next 12 months.

Meet one of our Dignity Vending Machines out in the community
Help us stock 130 machines in public toilets, charities, domestic violence, community and homeless refuge centres, hospitals, and Aboriginal Health Services across Australia.
What started as a passionate commitment as a volunteer quickly evolved when Julie stepped up as the Dignity Vending Machine Volunteer Lead for Queensland.
Back then, the concept was simple but revolutionary: providing free period products with zero barriers, zero awkward conversations, and 100% dignity.
When Julie started, we had just 11 machines nationwide. Today, thanks to the dedication of people like her and the generosity of our donors, we have 1,190 machines Australia-wide!
“I’ve worked with many women who have had to leave everything behind just to be safe. They walk away with nothing. I’ve seen firsthand the difference that access to period products and basic toiletries can make in those moments. It’s not just about the items themselves - it’s about restoring dignity and a sense of being cared for when everything else feels uncertain.”
